Azores Airlines completes another special mission and ensures the transport of professionals returning to work in Austria

Little by little, life in some countries in Europe is beginning to pick up the pace again. It is the case of Austria, a destination to which Azores Airlines performed a charter flight yesterday, in cooperation with the Air Broker Empty Leg Portugal, to transport employees of Rio Arda, a Portuguese company with a presence in the Austrian market, recognized for its particular expertise in construction, particularly in the area of formwork and carpentry.

Onboard the aircraft followed 158 passengers of Portuguese nationality, who left Porto at 11:20 AM on April 16 and arrived in Vienna at 3:00 PM local time.

It was a two-hour, forty-minute flight, which took place in a different environment since the passengers were waiting, since the beginning of the pandemic, for authorization from the Austrian entities to return to the country where they usually work and reside. When landing in Vienna, the passengers disembarked without obligation of quarantine, since it was beforehand the execution of tests and respective medical declarations even before leaving Portuguese territory, as foreseen by the competent entities of both countries.

The chance to return to work is a sign that, gradually, economic activities are resuming their pace. For Azores Airlines and Empty Leg Portugal, it meant witnessing and participating in a moment that is relevant to everyone, since it is a significant step towards Europe's progressive economic recovery.
