On August 15, a strike by an external entity (IPMA – Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera) forced the cancellation of various SATA Air Açores flights, impacting the travel plans of many passengers.
We recognize that this unexpected situation caused inconvenience and required patience and flexibility from all those impacted. Many passengers had to wait for alternative solutions and travel on subsequent days.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all those involved for their understanding. Your cooperation was essential in enabling us to respond quickly and responsibly by planning an extraordinary operation. This resulted in 194 interisland flights being made available, offering almost 14,000 seats to accommodate the affected passengers on August 16 and 17.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused and remain committed to providing the best possible service, even in adverse circumstances.
