To symbolically mark the date, the airlines prepared sympathies on board and launched a special online campaign that promises discounts for those looking to travel in the coming months.
More than eight decades after its establishment, SATA Group's airlines' longevity proves the mission that continues to be fulfilled: uniting the nine islands of the archipelago between itself and the rest of the world was the dream that led the project.
With more than two hundred domestic and international flights per week, departing or arriving in the archipelago, and beyond five hundred interisland flights within the Azores, SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines accomplished the dream that originated its foundation.
SATA Air Açores is responsible for the air operation between the nine islands of the Azores Archipelago, and Azores Airlines is responsible for connecting the Azores to more than 17 national and international destinations. Boston, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Paris, Barcelona, Bilbao, Praia, Funchal, Lisbon, and Porto are just some of the most visited destinations by the Azorean airline.
Recently, and already announcing the next winter, the airline that connects the Azores to domestic and international destinations announced a reinforcement of connections to the city of Porto, with three new routes between Porto and North America (Boston, Toronto, and New York (JFK)), and the increase in weekly frequencies between the Azores and Porto.
