It was forty-eight minutes past nine when the Azores Airlines Airbus A321 Neo "Wonder" landed at Lajes Airport, Terceira Island departing from JFK Airport, New York.
On board were 178 passengers. During the flight, crew members served a light meal, complemented with some souvenirs of a flight that will always have a special meaning.
Upon arrival at Lajes airport, the airline was greeted with water jets, a traditional welcome gesture in aviation, and passengers were welcomed to the sound of traditional songs and with some souvenirs of the first direct flight between New York and Terceira Island.
Direct flights between Terceira Island and New York City take place on Mondays, until September,5.
