Azorean traditions aboard Azores Airlines

During the Carnival season, which is celebrated between the end of January and Carnival Tuesday, Azores Airlines offers on board its flights departing from Ponta Delgada the typical malassada, a culinary specialty that can be found on all the islands of the Archipelago and marks one of the most festive seasons in this destination.

The airline offered a malassada to passengers who traveled on January 26th and February 2nd, accompanied by the light meal served on board. The gesture is repeated on Carnival Tuesday, as it is already a tradition onboard the airline.

With these initiatives, the airline wants to show its passengers some of the traditions that are still celebrated in the Azores, as well as show them some of the most traditional flavors of the destination.

Throughout the year, the airline has surprised its passengers with courtesy gestures, many related to the Azores, its fleet's main departure and arrival point and the birthplace of the SATA group.

Some of the celebrations that traveled with the Azorean airline included Christmas, Carnival, Valentine's Day, Easter, and the Day of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
