Beginning on June 1, Azores Airlines will enhance its air connectivity between mainland Portugal and the islands of Terceira, Faial, and Pico by adding one additional weekly frequency on each route.
The new flights will launch on June 1 (Terceira), June 19 (Pico) and June 21 (Faial). In addition, the airline is evaluating the possibility of introducing an extra frequency on the Lisbon ↔ Terceira route, subject to slot availability.
Additional weekly flights will operate as follows:
- Mondays — Lisbon ↔ Terceira
- Fridays — Lisbon ↔ Pico
- Sundays — Lisbon ↔ Faial
This expansion is part of Azores Airlines’ IATA Summer 2026 operation, designed to meet the expected rise in travel demand during the peak season. Upon confirmation of the additional frequencies, the airline will operate around 200 weekly flights between mainland Portugal and the Azores, departing from Lisbon, Porto, and Faro.
By strengthening domestic operations, the SATA Group remains focused on its core mission: serving the Azorean community, ensuring mobility within the archipelago, and safeguarding territorial continuity.
Across the Group’s overall operation, encompassing domestic and inter-island services, more than 800 weekly flights are planned, gradually increasing and reaching their peak in July and August.
