MISSION AZORES: SATA GROUP PRESENTS ITS SUMMER AIR OPERATION IN PORTO
The SATA Group brought together several strategic partners in Porto, namely tour operators and travel agents, as well as other partners who have contributed to the success of the air operation in that destination, to present the flight programme planned for the upcoming IATA summer season, which begins on 29 March.
The operation of the group’s airlines (SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines) remains focused on the Azores archipelago, strengthening air connections between Porto and the islands through an additional three weekly frequencies, bringing the total offer to 60 weekly flights between Porto and the Azores (Ponta Delgada – São Miguel / Lajes – Terceira Island).
Guided by the motto “Mission Azores”, the summer programme of the SATA Group’s airlines reflects their continued commitment to serving and connecting the archipelago. In this context, the connection to Porto takes on particular importance. In addition to the regular travel of residents - many of whom are students - the route also demonstrates increasing tourism dynamism, driven by domestic and international passengers who choose direct flights operated by Azores Airlines.
The event, held at a hotel in Porto, was marked by the reunion with key partners who have been fundamental to consolidating Azores Airlines’ presence in this market. The session also served to showcase SATA Air Açores’ offer and explain the connectivity options that enable longer stays and the discovery of several islands across the archipelago.
SATA Air Açores expects to operate more than 564 weekly inter-island flights this summer, offering connections that cover all nine islands of the archipelago.
