Azores Airlines and SATA Air Açores are strengthening their flight operations during the Christmas and New Year season, offering passengers greater flexibility and travel options. Azores Airlines will add around 5,000 seats to its flights to the Azores, and SATA Açores will increase the capacity of its inter-island connections by around 3,500 seats.
This reinforcement covers connections between mainland Portugal (Porto and Lisbon) and the Azores archipelago (Ponta Delgada, Santa Maria, Faial, and Pico), in addition to connections between the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores, from December 8 to January 4, with the highest incidence between December 20 and January 4.
The decision to increase operations follows continuous monitoring of demand and sales forecasts for this period, which is traditionally marked by a significant increase in passenger mobility, especially among students returning home.
At the same time, SATA Air Açores will also reinforce its inter-island operation, offering around 3,500 additional seats on flights between the islands of the Azores archipelago.
The SATA Group airlines (Azores Airlines and SATA Air Açores) remain attentive to the evolution of demand, adjusting capacity whenever this proves operationally viable and commercially justified. During the winter season, both airlines operate more than 400 weekly flights, intending to serve the nine islands and ensure accessibility to the Azores archipelago.
The additional flights are now available for booking in the reservation systems and for purchase on the website www.azoresairlines.pt, at the airline's sales counters, or through travel agencies.
