SATA Group joined the United for Wildlife Movement

SATA Group's airlines have signed the Buckingham Palace Declaration, joining the air transport taskforce enhanced by United for Wildlife against illegal wildlife trafficking.

The movement meets SATA Azores Airlines' corporate responsibilities and is another step toward the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and reinforces SATA Group engagement towards IATA's EinvA Program. (IATA Environmental Assessment Program).

Although wildlife animal traffic is not a problem that undermines the Azores Archipelago, the airline group assumes that companies must help in any possible way, starting by supporting international environmentally sustainable initiatives.

By signing the Buckingham Palace Declaration, SATA Group will encourage its business partners to join the ban on illegal wildlife trade and pursue efforts to boost consumer awareness among passengers and freight companies.

The Transport Taskforce was created by United for Wildlife to work with the transport industry and look at how the sector can stop the illegal wildlife trade chain between suppliers and consumers.

The taskforce brings high-level leaders from the transport industry together with representatives from across the world of conservation, along with organizations already engaged in initiatives designed to curb illegal trafficking. United for Wildlife is one of the initiatives embraced by IATA and many airlines around the globe, including SATA Group's airlines.
