A new record was achieved in December 2021

In October 2021, the SATA Group airlines (SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines) had reached a historical record. The record was renewed in December 2021, considering the augmentation of 3471 passengers compared to the best December ever in the Group history.

December 2021 represents an increase of 92.4% when compared to December 2020.

The evolution from July to December 2021 shows that regular activity has become a reality for both companies. That represents an exception at a global level, considering that the perspectives for the year 2021 did not indicate that it would be possible to achieve pre-pandemic demand levels so soon and, even less, exceed 2019 demands.

SATA Group airlines maintained a regular punctuality rate across 2021, in the order of 90%, throughout the months, and in December, as well, occasionally compromised by the adverse weather conditions felt in the last few weeks of this year, which forced the cancellation or delay of some connections, in particular, in the Archipelago of the Azores.

In 2021, the airlines adopted, since March 2020, a policy of commercial flexibility. Among other solutions created, they allowed booking changes without penalties, full refund campaigns for travel, and extended vouchers' validity to make life easier for travelers.
