Azores Airlines boots connections between the Azores and the Algarve

  • Flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
  • Operation starts on June 2, 2024

Azores Airlines has recently announced an increase in flights between the Azores (Ponta Delgada) and the Algarve (Faro) with a third weekly direct flight. The demand so far has led to an increase in flights, which will start on June 2nd, 2024, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Flights will depart from Ponta Delgada at 9:00 a.m. and from Faro at 1:25 p.m., taking approximately two hours and twenty-five minutes.

With this investment, the airline aims to offer more to its passengers and strengthen its position in the national market, also expanding network connectivity in the Azores, for example, by allowing travelers from North America to take advantage of Azores Airlines’ network to travel to a variety of interesting spots in mainland Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, and Faro) and Madeira, as well as other European cities, such as Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona, or Bilbao.

Faro International Airport serves as the primary entry point for tourists in the region and is the second-largest external passenger entry point nationally.
