The first day of the Lisbon Travel Market (BTL 2026) concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the SATA Group and Coliseu Micaelense – PDL26, within the scope of the Portuguese Capital of Culture, which this year is hosted by the city of Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel Island.
The protocol was formalised during a cocktail event promoted by the SATA Group, which brought together industry partners, cultural agents, tour operators, travel agents and other guests closely connected to the airlines’ activity in mainland Portugal.
This cooperation agreement establishes special booking and transport conditions for artists and technical teams travelling between mainland Portugal and the Azores to participate in the extensive cultural programme planned for the coming months. The initiative will help deliver a diverse and unprecedented cultural offering in Ponta Delgada. Through this partnership, Azores Airlines reinforces its commitment to the archipelago, supporting cultural organisations and contributing to the diversification of entertainment options available at the destination.
The SATA Group’s strategic presence at BTL 2026 includes a broad programme of activities aimed at both tourism professionals and the general public. During the business‑focused days, several working sessions with strategic partners are planned, coinciding with the launch of promotional campaigns particularly targeted at the domestic market.
With a dynamic and engaging presence at the fair—enhanced by promotional initiatives and travel prize draws held throughout the five-day event—the SATA Group reaffirms its mission to actively contribute to the development and promotion of the Azores. The airlines aim to showcase the many reasons why the archipelago is a destination worth discovering 365 days a year.
