Azores Airlines will start a new air operation between New York and Ponta Delgada from June 4, 2022.
It’s a regular connection, which the airline will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Meanwhile, the airline is already flying from New York to Funchal (Madeira Island) in partnership with the Azorean operator InovTravel.
This is a significant bet from a commercial point of view but equally relevant from a symbolic point of view, considering that two Azorean partners (the SATA Group and InovTravel) are stepping together into the important market of New York, promoting two extraordinary Atlantic destinations, such as the Azores and Madeira.
Flights between New York and Ponta Delgada (Azores) depart from New York at 9:20 pm and arrive in Ponta Delgada the following day at 6:25 am. Departures from Ponta Delgada are scheduled for the end of the day, at 6:00 pm, arriving in New York at 7:55 pm, local time.
